DIY - Wall papering Course

The DIY Wallpapering Course is designed for learners who want to develop strong, practical wallpapering skills suitable for real homes and real projects. This course teaches you how to prepare surfaces, measure and cut wallpaper correctly, match patterns, work around corners and obstacles, and achieve a smooth, professional-looking finish.

It is suitable for anyone with basic decorating experience or those who feel confident enough to move into wallpapering as a standalone skill.

This course is ideal for learners who:

Have completed the DIY Decorating Intermediate course, or
Already feel comfortable with basic decorating tasks and want to specialise in wallpapering techniques
No previous wallpapering experience is required.

This is a face‑to‑face, practical course delivered in Basingstoke.
You can choose the duration that suits your needs and schedule:

1-Day Course

Can be completed in:

Two weekday evenings, or
One Saturday session
This option covers the core techniques required to wallpaper a feature wall or small area.

2-Day Course

Can be completed in:

A Saturday and Sunday, or
Four weekday evenings
This option allows for deeper practice, including pattern matching, managing repeats, and working around windows and sockets.

3-Day Course

Can be completed over:

Three weekend days (Saturday, Sunday, then the following Saturday), or
Six weekday evenings
This extended option provides the most hands-on practice, covering multiple walls, corners, more complex patterns, and tricky areas such as alcoves and door frames.

I had initially contacted a company a lot closer to me but because Craig was so responsive and informative i decided to go with them. On the day of training our assessor David was equally as good. I completed the EWPA Carpentry Level 2. It was carried out in one day plus taking a few photos and filling in some forms. The forms were pretty straightforward and Craig also offered some advice filling them in. The practical test was carried out with just myself and one other carpenter. We weren't in a rush to finish the little stud wall and chatted our way through the day. David the assessor was down to earth and helpful. I've received my certificate from Multi Trades 3 days after completion. So I will now call CSCS and get my blue card.

I recently had to do a EWPA to gain a level 2 NVQ in bricklaying due to the changes in the cscs card system. I would highly recommend to anyone in the same situation to do the course with mttraining, the course is well organised and the instructor Ryan was great guy and thanks to Craig who was very helpful with the organising of the whole thing.
